Live portraits for weddings & events

I’ll capture your event with beautiful, hand-illustrated colour portraits. I’ll photograph your guests and then draw them. I’m happy to draw while people watch, but this give them the option of returning to the party if they don’t want to wait. I display the portraits so people can pop back whenever they like and collect them. My average output is five portraits per hour.

Graphic recording/vibe capturing service

As a graphic recorder, I also offer a service where I provide

a floating presence at your event, capturing the events and the vibe on a drawing board I carry around, and providing you with a large image of the whole event, featuring elements like the band, entertainment, table details and perhaps some of the more notable dance-floor contributions of your guests (!). I also LOVE graphic recording the contents of SPEECHES!!

This service can be provided in combination with one of the portrait packages, or as a bespoke arrangement, on discussion and agreement.

Essential booking policies

1. Availability and minimum booking time

  • Standard minimum: All bookings require a 3-hour minimum commitment. This ensures adequate time for travel, professional setup, guest coverage, and dismantling of the portrait space.

  • Weekend Premium Minimum: For all high-demand Saturday and peak-season weekend bookings outside of major urban areas, I require a 5-hour minimum commitment to protect my limited availability.

2. Location and travel fees

  • Location Premium: Bookings taking place in Central London and other major urban hubs (e.g., Manchester, Edinburgh) will incur a 15% Location Premium to reflect higher operating costs and demand in these areas.

  • Travel Policy: Travel costs are included within a local radius (typically a 50-mile round trip). Distances beyond this are charged at a commercial mileage rate (e.g., 45p per additional mile).

  • Accommodation: For events requiring significant travel (3+ hours) or a finish time past 11:00 PM, I may add accommodation costs to the estimate.

3. Overtime and extensions

  • On-the-day extension: Should you wish to extend the drawing time beyond the contracted package on the day, this is subject to availability and will be charged at the premium overtime rate, typically a 25% surcharge on the standard effective hourly fee. This must be settled on the day of the event.

  • Personalised event stationery: I can either draw onto blank card or design pre-prepared portrait cards (like the ones you see in the images on this page) for a small additional fee. Typically I can create a frame design with the names of the couple and their wedding date, or add corporate logos and the title of events, and a few other small design elements around the edge. Usually this will be done at a fee of around £100, which includes printing of around 50 cards - enough for the portraits with some left over for you to use as thank you cards, potentially, wiht your own message. 4. Post-event & advanced services

  • Digital files: The package fee covers the personalised physical artwork provided to your guests. I can also take high resolution photographs of each portrait, on request, and send them to you afterwards as digital files.

  • Usage rights: Your fee grants you and your guests personal, non-commercial usage rights for the artwork. Should any third-party vendor (e.g., photographers, planners, or venues) wish to use the artwork for commercial promotion (website, advertising, social media campaigns), a separate commercial licensing fee will apply.
